key responsibilities
technical oversight and design review: provide technical guidance and expertise throughout the project lifecycle. review and approve engineering designs, drawings, and specifications to ensure technical feasibility, quality, and adherence to client requirements and industry standards.
project planning and execution: assist the project manager in developing detailed project schedules, defining scope, and allocating resources (manpower, materials, equipment). manage and monitor the execution of technical tasks to ensure they are completed on time and within budget.
coordination and communication: serve as the primary technical point of contact for internal teams (design, procurement, manufacturing), contractors, and clients. communicate technical project status, risks, and challenges clearly and concisely to all stakeholders.
quality and compliance: ensure all technical work complies with relevant safety codes, regulatory standards, and quality management systems. oversee testing, commissioning, and final inspection activities.
budget and cost control: track project expenditures related to technical tasks, materials, and labor. identify potential cost savings and manage changes in project scope that impact budget.
documentation management: maintain comprehensive and accurate project documentation, including technical reports, progress summaries, change orders, and as-built drawings.
