Role Overview

The Technical Program Manager (TPM) plays a key role in ensuring that Product and Engineering teams operate consistently within defined operating models, frameworks, standards, and best practices for building, delivering, and continuously improving software products.

This role focuses on embedding operational discipline without bureaucracy by implementing playbooks, rituals, governance mechanisms, and accountability practices that enable transparency, traceability, and alignment across teams.

The TPM acts as a connective layer between Process & Practices, Data & Insights, Systems & Tools, and Product and Engineering stakeholders, helping measure adherence, identify friction points, and drive continuous improvement through effective operational governance.

Key Responsibilities

Tools, Automation, and Analytics

Support, maintain, and enhance internally developed tools and dashboards used for program and release management.

Use hands-on technical skills, including JavaScript and Google Apps Script, to automate workflows, reporting, and operational metrics.

Build analytical reports and dashboards using BI and visualization tools such as Looker, Sigma, or similar platforms.

Integrate data from Jira and Google Sheets to enable clear visibility into delivery status, risks, and dependencies.

Program & Release Management

Coordinate and manage the end-to-end release lifecycle, including planning, dependency tracking, cross-team coordination, risk identification, and milestone monitoring.

Ensure timely communication, accurate reporting, and structured tracking of release progress.

Support formal sign-offs and readiness checks at key release stages.

PMO Practices & Process Governance

Support the adoption and consistent application of PMO methodologies, standards, and best practices across Product and Engineering teams.

Assist in defining processes, creating templates, maintaining documentation, and enabling team adherence.

Help establish governance mechanisms across discovery, delivery, and adoption phases.

Ensure process visibility and auditability through tools such as Jira, Confluence, and BI dashboards.

Continuous Improvement & Insights

Identify gaps and inefficiencies in Product and Technology Operations.

Use data and metrics to recommend and support process improvements that enhance delivery efficiency and predictability.

AI Awareness

Maintain awareness of how Artificial Intelligence is influencing software development and delivery practices.

Identify opportunities to apply AI-driven tools and approaches within program tracking, reporting, and workflow automation.

Required Qualifications

Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.

58 years of total experience in the IT / software development industry.

35 years of experience as a Technical Program Manager or similar role.

Mandatory hands-on coding experience with:

JavaScript

ReactJS

NodeJS

Strong working knowledge of Google Sheets, including advanced formulas, data manipulation, pivot tables, and dashboards.

Solid experience using Jira for issue tracking, sprint planning, dependency management, and reporting.

Good understanding of software development lifecycles (Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid).

Strong communication and collaboration skills across engineering, product, and operations teams.

Analytical mindset with a data-driven approach to problem-solving.

Good to Have

Experience with Google Apps Script for automation.

Exposure to workflow automation tools such as n8n or similar platforms.

Familiarity with BI or analytics tools used for operational reporting.
