job summary:

the pharmacist is responsible for ensuring safe and effective medication use by accurately dispensing drugs, reviewing prescriptions, counseling patients, managing pharmacy inventory, and maintaining compliance with regulatory standards. the role requires strong knowledge of pharmacology, patient safety protocols, and collaboration with healthcare professionals to optimize patient outcomes.

key responsibilities:

dispense medications accurately according to prescriptions and hospital protocols.

review prescriptions for drug interactions, contraindications, and dosage accuracy.

provide medication counseling to patients and caregivers on usage, side effects, and storage.

monitor patient therapy for effectiveness and safety.

maintain pharmacy inventory, including ordering, storage, and stock rotation.

compound, prepare, and label medications when required.

ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and hospital standards.

maintain accurate records of prescriptions, dispensed medications, and inventory.

collaborate with doctors, nurses, and other healthcare professionals for optimal patient care.

stay updated on advancements in pharmacology and pharmaceutical practices.

qualification & experience:

bachelors or diploma in pharmacy (m / m).

registered with relevant pharmacy council.

knowledge of pharmacology, drug interactions, and clinical pharmacy practices.

03 years experience in hospital or community pharmacy preferred.
