As a Perfusionist, you will play a critical role in supporting surgical teams during procedures that require the use of cardiopulmonary bypass or other circulatory support. You will be responsible for operating heart-lung machines and ensuring optimal patient care.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- **Operate Heart-Lung Machines**: You will be responsible for managing the heart-lung machine during surgeries, which supports patients’ circulation and oxygenation while the heart is stopped.
- **Monitor Patient Vital Signs**: Continuously assess patients' vital signs and adjust machinery settings as necessary to maintain proper function and patient safety.
- **Prepare Equipment**: You will ensure all perfusion equipment is ready and functional before surgeries, which includes checking oxygen levels and ensuring the integrity of circuits.
- **Coordinate with Surgical Team**: Work closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and nurses, providing real-time updates and adjustments during the procedure to optimize patient outcomes.
