An Oiler is a key member of the engine department on ships such as merchant vessels, offshore rigs, and cruise ships. The role involves maintaining and lubricating machinery, assisting engineers, and ensuring smooth operation of all engine room equipment.

🔧 Key Responsibilities:

Lubricate and maintain engines, pumps, compressors, and other machinery

Assist marine engineers in daily engine room operations

Monitor engine performance and report abnormalities

Clean and maintain engine room equipment and work areas

Check oil levels, fuel systems, and machinery parts regularly

Handle tools and spare parts inventory

Follow safety procedures and maritime regulations

Assist during maintenance, repairs, and overhauls
