Nutritionist (Female)

1. Nutritional Assessment:

• Dieticians assess patients' dietary history, medical records, and current nutritional status to identify needs and develop tailored diet plans.

• Dieticians conduct rounds to assess change in nutritional status, modify diets as needed, and provide diet counseling upon admission and therapy closure.

• Diet Planning and Prescription:

• Dieticians prepare diet charts and provide detailed instructions on how to follow the prescribed diet.

• Diet should be of different types according to patient needs, documented in a diet register.

• Patient Education and Counseling:

• Dieticians provide education on healthy eating habits and the importance of nutrition for overall well-being.

• They counsel patients on how to manage their dietary needs, especially for specific conditions like diabetes or hypertension, muscle building, RA.

• Monitoring and Evaluation:

• Certain patients need monitoring on weight gain, muscle build and progress accordingly, like in cases of IBS, Crohn’s disease, MD etc, evaluating the effectiveness of dietary interventions, and making necessary adjustments.

• Documentation:

• All aspects of nutritional care, including assessment findings, diet plans, and patient education, are documented.

• Diet slips are filled by nursing staff based on prescriptions from consultants or medical officers.

• Collaboration with Healthcare Team:

• Working closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to integrate nutrition into the overall patient care plan.

• Participating in interdisciplinary rounds and team meetings to discuss patient progress and make necessary adjustments to nutritional care.

• Research and Education:

• Involved in conducting research studies on nutrition interventions and their impact on patient outcomes.
