Job Description - NPD (New Product Development)

Role:Engineer / Senior Engineer

Experience: 7+ Years

Department: New Product Development (NPD)

Industry: Precision Machining / Manufacturing

Salary CTC : 35K-40K (interview performance salary fixed)

Qualification: Diploma in Mechanical Engineering (DME) / ITI / +2 with extensive CNC machining experience

Key Skills

• Strong machining background in CNC Turning, CNC Lathe, VMC, and related manufacturing processes

Roles & Responsibilities

• Drive New Product Development (NPD) activities and ensure timely completion of development milestones and on-time sample submissions to customers.

• Independently perform machine setup, program creation/modification, and prove-out activities for new components on CNC lathes and machining centers.

• Ensure component quality meets customer specifications, engineering drawings, and process requirements.

• Prepare process plans, cycle time calculations, and machining cost estimates to support quotation and feasibility studies for new projects.

• Select appropriate tooling, fixtures, cutting parameters, and machine configurations based on component requirements and manufacturing feasibility.

• Develop turning and machining processes with a focus on achieving target cycle times, productivity, quality, and cost objectives.

• Coordinate with cross-functional teams including Production, Quality, Tool Room, and Sales to ensure smooth product development and launch.

• Identify, analyze, and resolve issues encountered during new component development through corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).

• Conduct root cause analysis of process failures and implement effective solutions to prevent recurrence.

• Capture and document lessons learned from development activities to support continuous improvement and future projects.

• Prepare and maintain technical documentation, process sheets, setup instructions, development reports, and customer-related records.

• Support continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing process capability, productivity, and manufacturing efficiency.

Preferred Qualifications

• 7+ years of hands-on experience in CNC machining and new product development within a manufacturing environment.

• Strong expertise in CNC Lathe operations, programming, and process optimization.

• Exposure to VMC machining and fixture/tooling development is preferred.

• Working knowledge of CAD software (2D/3D) and manufacturing drawings.

• Good communication, analytical, and documentation skills.
