this description applies to all “network engineer '' related skillsets to include: network technician, firewall engineer, wan engineer, nips/nids engineer, etc. it can be modified to meet skill set requirements but must be applicable to the appropriate levels

roles and responsibilities:

• gathering and documenting existing client network and device information into a workbook that will be leveraged to develop the migration plan.

• support fw & nw engineering in the development of the engineering work order (ewo) & firewall changes.

• entry level experience with network engineering and architecture skills.

• ability to support a team of network engineers and client accounts in the network transformation effort.

• strong requirements gathering and documentation of network environments.

• travel may be required

skills required:

• 5+ years in network engineering and documentation.

• ccnp required, ccie desired, networking technology equivalent certification or equivalent network certification with minimum 5+ years experience in data center network infrastructures.

• knowledge of networking hardware, including routers, switches, and firewalls.

• expert level capabilities within the microsoft office suite of tools, especially excel and visio.

• professional attention to detail and with a sense of urgency.

• knowledge of ip, including tcp, udp, nating, ospf, and bgp.

• knowledge of ios stack layers 1, 2, 3
