a melting supervisor oversees melting operations in a foundry or similar industrial setting, responsible for managing the molten metal process, ensuring high-quality metal production, maintaining safety protocols, leading and training the melting team, and optimizing the process for efficiency and cost. key duties include furnace management, metal quality control, process parameter checks, shift operations, and compliance with health and safety standards.

key responsibilities

1. supervision & leadership:

lead and motivate a team of operators, providing training, coaching, and performance management to ensure productivity and adherence to standards.

2. melting process management:

oversee the melting process, including furnace management, temperature control, and the addition of materials, to produce molten metal that meets technical specifications.

3. quality control:

monitor and control metal chemistry and quality, ensuring compliance with company standards and customer requirements.

ensure all health, safety, and hygiene regulations are observed by the team, conduct risk assessments, and implement safety protocols.

optimize melting processes for efficiency and productivity, monitoring cycle times, and suggesting improvements.
