Mechanical Maintenance Officer Required in Germany Under (WP)

We are seeking a skilled and responsible Mechanical Maintenance Officer to maintain, inspect, repair, and improve mechanical equipment and systems. The candidate will perform preventive and corrective maintenance, troubleshoot equipment failures, maintain technical records, and ensure machinery operates safely and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

Inspect, maintain, repair, and troubleshoot mechanical machinery and equipment.

Perform scheduled preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities.

Diagnose mechanical faults and carry out timely repairs to minimise downtime.

Maintain equipment such as pumps, compressors, conveyors, boilers, turbines, gearboxes, valves, hydraulic systems, pneumatic systems, and HVAC units.

Conduct routine inspections, lubrication, alignment, calibration, and condition monitoring.

Replace worn or damaged components, including bearings, seals, belts, couplings, shafts, and gears.

Read and interpret engineering drawings, equipment manuals, schematics, and technical specifications.

Support equipment installation, commissioning, testing, and modification projects.

Analyse recurring equipment failures and recommend permanent corrective measures.

Prepare maintenance schedules, job cards, inspection reports, and equipment histories.

Monitor the availability of tools, spare parts, lubricants, and maintenance materials.

Coordinate with production, engineering, electrical, safety, and procurement teams.

Supervise technicians, contractors, and external service providers when required.

Ensure compliance with occupational health, safety, and environmental procedures.

Follow lockout/tagout procedures and permit-to-work requirements.

Conduct risk assessments and report unsafe equipment or working conditions.

Support emergency breakdown maintenance and restoration activities.

Monitor maintenance costs and identify opportunities to improve equipment efficiency.

Maintain proper housekeeping within workshops and maintenance areas.

Participate in safety meetings, technical training, and continuous-improvement initiatives.
