Job Description - Utility Maintenance Engineer (Pharma / API)
Position: Utility Maintenance Engineer

Key Responsibilities
Operate and maintain utility systems including Boilers, Chillers, Air Compressors, Cooling Towers, HVAC, AHU, RO, Purified Water (PW), Water for Injection (WFI), Steam Distribution, Vacuum Systems, and DG Sets.
Ensure uninterrupted operation of plant utilities to support manufacturing activities.
Plan and execute preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance of utility equipment.
Troubleshoot mechanical issues and minimize equipment downtime.
Monitor utility parameters and ensure optimum efficiency and energy conservation.
Ensure compliance with cGMP, GDP, SOPs, EHS, and statutory regulations.
Maintain maintenance records, equipment history cards, calibration, and documentation as per audit requirements.
Coordinate with Production, QA, QC, Validation, and Engineering teams for maintenance activities.
Supervise contractors and technicians during maintenance and project execution.
Handle spare parts planning, inventory control, and annual maintenance contracts (AMC).
Participate in qualification, commissioning, and validation of utility equipment.
Support regulatory audits such as USFDA, MHRA, WHO-GMP, and customer audits.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives for equipment reliability and operational excellence.
Required Skills
Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical utility systems.
Expertise in preventive and breakdown maintenance.
Knowledge of HVAC, Boilers, Chillers, Air Compressors, PW/WFI systems, and Steam Distribution.
Understanding of cGMP, SOPs, EHS, and documentation practices.
Good troubleshooting, analytical, and team management skills.
Experience with SAP PM, CMMS, or other maintenance management systems is an added advantage.
