key responsibilities
1. transportation and shipping management
coordinate shipments: plan, coordinate, and monitor inbound and outbound logistics operations, including domestic and international shipments.
carrier management: coordinate with vendors, transporters, and freight forwarders to schedule pickups and deliveries, and negotiate competitive freight rates.
documentation: prepare and maintain essential logistics documents, such as e-way bills, goods received notes (grns), challans, invoices, and import/export paperwork.
optimization: implement route planning and load management strategies to optimize logistics costs and delivery timelines.
tracking: monitor shipment status and resolve any issues or discrepancies with transportation promptly and efficiently.
2. inventory and warehouse operations
inventory control: oversee and manage inventory control activities, ensuring accurate stock records and proper storage conditions.
stock movement: maintain records of all stock movement, checking in incoming shipments, verifying contents, and processing goods.
warehouse coordination: collaborate with the warehouse team to ensure efficient and safe receiving, storage, picking, and dispatch of materials and finished goods.
stock reconciliation: assist with regular stock reconciliation and reporting to prevent and resolve inventory discrepancies.
3. reporting and compliance
performance monitoring: track and analyze key logistics kpis (key performance indicators), such as delivery performance, cost per shipment, and inventory turnover.
reporting: prepare and present regular logistics reports and metrics to management, highlighting performance and areas for improvement.
regulatory compliance: ensure all logistics activities, including import/export documentation and transportation, comply with local and government regulations (., gst, customs).
financial support: support the procurement and finance teams with freight billing, invoice reconciliation, and cost validation.
