key responsibilities
- setting up and operating lathes: load and unload parts, set up machines, and operate them to produce parts according to specifications.
- interpreting technical drawings: read and interpret blueprints, layouts, and charts to determine machining requirements.
- maintaining machines: perform routine maintenance, troubleshoot issues, and make adjustments as needed .
- inspecting finished parts: verify that parts meet quality standards and specifications .
- collaborating with team members: work with others to meet production goals and deadlines.
requirements
- proven experience: previous experience as a lathe operator or similar role.
- technical skills: ability to read and interpret technical drawings, knowledge of machining processes, and mechanical aptitude.
- education: high school diploma or equivalent; technical training or degree in mechanical engineering preferred
