objective: a junior architect is responsible for producing high quality project deliverables. he/ she can work on any/all phases of development including pre-design, schematic design, design development, execution drawings & documents and administration. they help the principal architect in site evaluation, quality & design checks and controls to ensure the facilitation of the project’s completion on-time, and meeting studio rust’s quality standards.
principal duties & responsibilities:
1. preparing architectural and interior drawings as guided by the principal architect or the project manager.
2. reviewing & designing architectural and interior drawings when asked.
3. ensuring all drawings are compliant to client requirements and site conditions
4. researching and maintaining knowledge of various materials, application methods & specifications.
5. monitoring the work of subordinate architects & making recommendations or scheduling meetings as required.
6. providing guidance to sit engineers, supervisors & contractors like plumber, electrician, etc. and help them interpret the drawings and documents.
7. liaising with clients to ensure all issues are addressed in a timely manner, and that the project requirements are met.
8. preparing boqs for projects, and reviewing measurements shared by vendors/ contractors.
9. ensuring the team works together to achieve set goals and targets.
10. acting as a mentor to new architects and helping them fine tune their design skills and improve their industry knowledge.
11. networking and consulting various industry professionals.
