Instrumentation & Utility Engineer

Plan and execute new automation projects

o To develop and provide process safety interlocks wrt HAZOP study

o To develop automation in order to optimize manpower utilization

o To train operators and supervisors wrt instrumentation

o To provide purchase specification sheet to SCM

o To ensure compliance with the legal requirements of the metrological department

o To prepare and maintain documents like the Critical Instrument List, Panel Wiring

Drawing, Instrumentation Set of details, List of Process safety interlocks and Single Line

Drawing for Power Supply Distribution.

ï‚· Lead the upgradation of existing Instrumentation system

o To research and gain insights on latest Instrumentation Systems

o To estimate and plan the budget for shutdown in AOP

o To review the existing system, create a backup and record the same

o To conduct a loop checking and be available for any queries

o To take a running review of the upgraded system at various shifts.

o To train the end users (production & utilities) once the upgradation is complete and

handover.

o To Improve the process safety by providing appropriate instrumentation control. 

o To provide instrumentation control as per CAPA against incident/accident cases

o To oversee calibration and maintenance of the instruments during the shutdown.

ï‚· Research and suggest Instrumentation / Automation of various systems to achieve better

productivity

o To shortlist areas that can be automated

o To create a high level detailing of instrumentation automation.

o To take a CAPEX approval with more detailed specification

o To create and maintain the Instrument Specification sheets for the purchase department
