Job Title: Housekeeper

Job Summary:

A Housekeeper is responsible for maintaining cleanliness, orderliness, and hygiene in assigned areas such as homes, hotels, offices, or other facilities. The role ensures a clean, comfortable, and safe environment for residents, guests, or employees.

Key Responsibilities:

Clean and sanitise rooms, bathrooms, kitchens, and common areas

Dust, sweep, mop, vacuum, and polish floors and surfaces

Change bed linens, make beds, and arrange rooms neatly

Dispose of trash and ensure proper waste management

Replenish supplies such as toiletries, towels, and cleaning materials

Report maintenance issues (., broken fixtures, leaks)

Handle cleaning equipment and chemicals safely

Follow hygiene and safety standards at all times

Assist with laundry and ironing (if required)

Maintain confidentiality and respect the privacy of occupants

Required Skills & Qualifications:

Basic knowledge of cleaning methods and products

Ability to operate cleaning equipment (vacuum, floor machines, etc.)

Good physical stamina and attention to detail

Time management and the ability to complete tasks efficiently

Trustworthy, reliable, and responsible attitude

Prior housekeeping experience preferred but not always required

Working Conditions:

May involve standing, bending, lifting, and repetitive tasks

Flexible shifts, including weekends or holidays (especially in hotels)

Work may be in residential homes, hotels, hospitals, or offices

Preferred Qualities:

Positive attitude and willingness to learn

Good communication skills

Ability to work independently or as part of a team
