ABOUT THE ROLE

The Netherlands is the world's second-largest agricultural exporter and is home to the most advanced greenhouse farming technology. We are recruiting Horticulture Workers for large-scale greenhouse operations in the Westland region. This is an excellent opportunity for candidates from agricultural or rural backgrounds who are looking to build a career in Europe's most advanced farming environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Planting, pruning, transplanting and harvesting various greenhouse crops (tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers, flowers)

• Operating automated irrigation and climate control systems under supervisor guidance

• Sorting, grading and packaging produce to export quality standards

• Monitoring plant health and reporting signs of disease or pest infestation

• Maintaining cleanliness, hygiene and organisation within the greenhouse

• Assisting with loading and unloading of produce and supplies

• Recording daily harvest quantities in the farm management system

• Following Dutch health, food safety and environmental regulations

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

• No formal educational qualification required; hardworking attitude essential

• Previous experience in farming, horticulture, or agricultural labour preferred

• Basic English communication ability (oral); Dutch not required

• Physically fit; work involves bending, lifting, and standing for extended periods

• Willingness to work in temperature-controlled greenhouse environments

• Age between 20 and 40 years preferred

• Team player with a reliable and consistent work ethic

• Valid passport with minimum 2 years validity

• Monthly salary EUR 1,900-2,400 plus overtime pay
