heavy duty mechanic - hydraulic specialist
responsibilities
• maintenance, repair, service and inspection of the mining equipment
• read and interpret drawings, blueprints and schematics to determine layout of industrial equipment electrical and hydraulic equipment installations.
• maintain, repair, test and install electrical motors, generators, alternators and hydraulic and pneumatic electrical control systems.
• to service, adjust and repair equipment, components and accessories including removal and refitting in a safe, proper and economical manner using special tools and equipment provided, ensuring top quality workmanship at all times
• observing, recognizing and reporting on defects as well as symptoms of impending failure
• interpret technical service information and data from manuals, bulletins etc. and apply such information on the job
• to ensure at all times that equipment and tools are kept in a clean safe condition
• report any shortages, damages or faults with tools or equipment to the supervisor
qualifications
• 3 – 5 years’ experience in the industry
• must have a demonstrated ability to efficiently diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair issues in mechanical systems common to mining and/or construction equipment products
• experience in repairing brands like komatsu, caterpillar, volvo, atlas copco (epiroc), schramm and liebherr
• computer literate and competent in the use of a laptop for trouble shooting
• ability to work independently and to function as part of a team
