Job Description

A Ground Staff Supervisor oversees and coordinates the various activities of airport ground personnel to ensure the safe, efficient, and on-time execution of all ground operations. This role involves leading a team in areas such as passenger services, baggage handling, ramp duties, and flight operations coordination.

Key Responsibilities

Ground Staff Supervisors play a critical role in the smooth functioning of an airport and typically perform the following duties:

Team Leadership & Coordination: Manage, train, and motivate ground staff, delegating tasks, creating schedules, conducting briefings, and ensuring clear communication across teams.

Operational Oversight: Oversee the entire ground handling process, from passenger check-in and security checks to aircraft marshaling, refueling, and baggage loading/unloading.

Safety and Compliance: Enforce strict adherence to safety regulations and security protocols set by aviation authorities (like IATA or DGCA), conducting regular safety inspections to mitigate potential hazards.

Problem Resolution: Address and resolve operational issues, flight delays, or passenger complaints promptly to minimize disruptions and maintain a high standard of customer service.

Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of all ground handling activities, incidents, and performance metrics for management and regulatory reporting.

Equipment Management: Monitor and ensure the proper functionality and safe operation of ground support equipment (GSE).
