a flight attendant ensures the safety, security, and comfort of passengers during flights. this role requires strong communication, hospitality, and emergency response skills, along with a commitment to maintaining airline service standards. flight attendants act as the primary point of contact for passengers while upholding strict safety and regulatory requirements.
key responsibilities
safety & security
conduct pre-flight safety checks of cabin equipment and emergency tools.
deliver safety demonstrations and ensure passenger compliance with regulations.
respond effectively to in-flight emergencies, including medical issues, turbulence, and evacuations.
monitor the cabin for suspicious behavior or security risks.
administer first aid, cpr, and use emergency medical equipment as required.
passenger service
greet passengers and assist with boarding, seating, and baggage storage.
provide special assistance to passengers with reduced mobility, unaccompanied minors, and those with medical needs.
serve meals, snacks, and beverages while ensuring dietary requests are met.
handle passenger inquiries, complaints, and requests with professionalism and empathy.
promote and process in-flight duty-free sales and airline services.
operational duties
coordinate with cockpit crew to ensure safe and efficient operations.
accurately complete flight reports, incident forms, and sales records.
assist with customs, immigration, and documentation for international flights.
ensure proper use of cabin systems (lighting, intercom, pa announcements).
follow airline sops (standard operating procedures) and aviation authority regulations.
required skills & competencies
strong knowledge of aviation safety and emergency procedures
first aid and cpr certified (aed knowledge preferred)
excellent communication and interpersonal skills
customer service orientation with conflict resolution ability
professional grooming, cultural awareness, and adaptability
ability to remain calm under pressure and make quick decisions
physical fitness and stamina for long shifts and irregular schedules
qualifications
high school diploma or equivalent (bachelor’s degree in hospitality/tourism a plus)
cabin crew certification from a recognized aviation authority (preferred)
proficiency in english (additional languages an advantage)
previous hospitality, customer service, or aviation experience desirable
flexibility to work shifts, weekends, holidays, and long-haul flights
