Fire Technician (Male)

Main Duties of a Fire Technician

Fire Fighting System Maintenance

Fire hydrant and hose reel systems

Fire pumps, jockey pumps and diesel pumps

Sprinkler systems

Fire extinguishers

Fire alarm and detection systems

Fire suppression systems

Inspection & Testing

Regularly inspect fire equipment and installations.

Test fire pumps and fire alarm systems.

Check pressure, valves, pipes, hydrants and sprinklers.

Identify faults and arrange repairs.

Preventive Maintenance

Follow daily/weekly/monthly maintenance schedules.

Lubricate and service pumps and mechanical equipment.

Replace damaged or expired fire equipment.

Emergency Response

Respond quickly to fire alarms and emergencies.

Operate fire-fighting equipment during incidents.

Assist in evacuation and emergency response.

Coordinate with the fire & safety/security team.

Documentation

Maintain inspection and maintenance records.

Record fire pump readings and equipment status.

Maintain fire extinguisher/service records.

Prepare reports for management and safety audits.

Safety & Compliance

Ensure fire systems are always operational.

Support fire drills and emergency preparedness.

Follow applicable fire-safety procedures and statutory requirements.

👷 Typical Qualification

ITI/Diploma in Fire & Safety, Electrical, Mechanical or related trade.

Experience in fire-fighting systems, fire pumps and fire alarm systems is preferred.

Knowledge of basic electrical/mechanical troubleshooting.

Physically fit and willing to work in shifts.
