Finance Analyst Required in Canada

We are seeking a detail-oriented Accounts Analyst to analyse financial data, maintain accurate accounting records, prepare reports, conduct reconciliations, and support budgeting and compliance activities. The successful candidate will work closely with the finance team to improve financial accuracy, control costs, and support informed business decisions.

Key Responsibilities

Analyse financial transactions, account balances, expenses, revenue, and business performance.

Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.

Perform bank, vendor, customer, ledger, and intercompany reconciliations.

Review accounts payable and accounts receivable records for accuracy.

Assist with general ledger entries and month-end and year-end closing activities.

Investigate discrepancies and coordinate corrective action.

Monitor budgets, costs, cash flow, and financial variances.

Prepare variance analysis and explain differences between actual and budgeted results.

Process and verify invoices, expense claims, payments, receipts, and supporting documents.

Maintain accurate records in accounting software and financial databases.

Assist with tax calculations, statutory filings, audits, and regulatory compliance.

Support internal and external auditors by providing required records and explanations.

Develop financial models, forecasts, dashboards, and management reports.

Identify financial risks, unusual transactions, and opportunities for cost optimisation.

Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and internal controls.

Collaborate with operations, procurement, sales, HR, and other departments.

Maintain the confidentiality of financial and business information.

Recommend improvements to accounting and reporting processes.
