• to work closely with suppliers and transport companies.
• to select appropriate modes of transportation.

• to plan and optimize logistics, product transportation, cost and pricing of transportation.

• to supervise inland logistics and intervene for problem solving and decision making.
• to negotiate with shipping companies for obtaining special rates for security deposits.

• to conduct inspection of goods when they arrive at port.

• to plan, develop and administer strategies related to all aspects of customs related issues, ensuring compliance with all regulations.
• to monitor changes in customs laws and regulations and take appropriate actions in order to ensure compliance and avoid penalties.
• to develop and direct customs release and entry procedures performed by customs brokers to ensure compliance with customs regulations.
• to plan, develop and administer customs policies and procedures to handle classification, valuation, documentation, admissibility and duty savings programs.
• to maintain all imports related documents.
• to ensure that accurate records are kept for import items and vendors.
• to assess customs duties and associated taxes to be paid on imported merchandise.
