Key Responsibilities
1. Installation and Wiring
Read Blueprints: Interpret electrical circuit diagrams, blueprints, and technical drawings to plan the layout and installation of wiring and equipment.
Layout & Execution: Install various types of wiring (concealed, conduit, casing, and capping) in residential, commercial, and industrial buildings.
Component Fitting: Fix and connect switchboards, MCBs (Miniature Circuit Breakers), ELCBs (Earth Leakage Circuit Breakers), distribution boards, and lighting fixtures.
2. Maintenance and Repair
Preventive Maintenance: Conduct routine inspections of electrical systems to identify and replace worn-out cables, loose connections, or faulty switches before they cause failure.
Troubleshooting: Use testing tools like Multimeters, Meggers, and Tong Testers to diagnose electrical faults, short circuits, or earthing issues.
Machine Maintenance: (For Electricians) Maintain and repair industrial motors, starters, transformers, and control panels (PLC/VFD).
3. Safety and Earthing
Earthing Systems: Install and maintain Pipe and Plate earthing systems to ensure the safety of the building and its inhabitants.
Compliance: Strictly adhere to the Indian Electricity (IE) Rules and safety protocols, including the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) like insulated gloves and boots.
Technical Skills & Tools
Tool Proficiency: Expert use of hand and power tools such as wire strippers, crimping tools, drilling machines, and grinders.
Measuring Instruments: Ability to operate and read Analog/Digital Voltmeter, Ammeter, Wattmeter, and Earth Testers.
Domestic Appliances: Basic knowledge of repairing geysers, fans, pumps, and motors.
