job description
• recommend optimal transportation modes, routing, equipment, or frequency
• establish or monitor specific supply chain based performance measurement system
• create policies or procedure for logistics activities
• plan or implement material flow management systems to meet production requirements
• train shipping department personnel in roles or responsibilities regarding global logistics strategies.
• maintain metrics, reports, process documentation, customer service logs or training or safety records.
• implement specific customer requirement such as internal reporting or customised transportation metrics
• resolve problems concerning transportation, logistics system, import or export or customer issues.
• participate in carrier management process such as selection, performance evaluation
• monitor product import or export processes to ensure compliance with regulatory or legal requirements
• ensure carrier compliance with company policy or procedure for product transit or delivery
• direct distribution centre operation to ensure achievement of cost, productivity, accuracy or timeliness objective
• communicate freight transportation information to costumers or suppliers using transportation management , electronic logistics marketplace or electronic freight information system, to improve efficiency, speedy, quality of transportation service
• review global, national or regional transportation or logistic reports for 2 ways to improve efficiency or minimize the environmental impact of logistics activities
• implement or monitor carbon or environmental management, accounting or audit systems
• conduct or review environmental audits for logistics activities
• develop plan or set goal reduce carbon emissions associated with storage or transport activities as per hseq policies and standard.
education and experience:
• should have sound knowledge on wood and metal industry
• should possess 2 to 3 yrs experience on dispatch/ lo
