key responsibilities:
die setup and maintenance: set up and install dies, tools, and equipment in machines for production runs. perform routine maintenance and repairs to ensure dies remain in good working condition.
troubleshooting and repair: troubleshoot and repair faulty dies and equipment, diagnosing mechanical or technical issues and implementing effective solutions to minimize downtime.
die design assistance: assist with the design, modification, and improvement of dies and tooling to meet production and quality specifications.
inspection and testing: inspect dies and tooling for defects or wear, making adjustments as necessary. conduct tests on dies to ensure they meet the required performance standards.
process optimization: work with the engineering and production teams to identify opportunities for improving die performance, reducing scrap, and enhancing production efficiency.
documentation: maintain detailed records of die maintenance, repairs, and modifications. document all processes, procedures, and changes to ensure compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements.
quality control support: collaborate with the quality control team to ensure that the dies and tools meet the necessary specifications, ensuring that products meet quality standards.
safety compliance: follow all safety protocols when handling dies, tools, and machinery. ensure the work area is safe, organized, and free of hazards.
inventory management: assist in managing and maintaining an inventory of die tools and components, ensuring parts are available for repairs or replacements when needed.
skills & qualifications:
education: high school diploma or equivalent. a technical certification or training in die making, machining, or a related field is preferred.
experience: minimum of 2-3 years of experience as a die shop technician or in a similar role within a manufacturing or machining environment.
