CNC VMC Machine Setter (Freshers) Chennai

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented CNC Setter & Operator to set up, operate, and monitor CNC machines for precision manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate should have experience in machine setting, tool changing, program loading, quality inspection, and maintaining production efficiency while ensuring safety and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

Set up CNC machines as per production drawings and process requirements.

Operate CNC turning, milling, or machining center machines efficiently.

Load and modify CNC programs when required.

Perform tool setting, offset adjustments, and tool replacement.

Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and GD&T specifications.

Conduct first-piece inspection and in-process quality checks using measuring instruments.

Monitor machine performance and troubleshoot minor operational issues.

Maintain production records and ensure adherence to production targets.

Ensure machines and work areas are clean and comply with safety standards.

Coordinate with quality and maintenance teams for process improvement.

Required Skills & Qualifications

ITI / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or relevant technical qualification.

Experience in CNC machine setting and operation.

Knowledge of Fanuc, Siemens, or Mitsubishi controls preferred.

Ability to read technical drawings and use measuring instruments such as vernier calipers, micrometers, and gauges.

Understanding of machining processes, tooling, and cutting parameters.

Basic knowledge of CNC programming is an added advantage.

Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in automotive, aerospace, or precision engineering industries.

Knowledge of 5S and lean manufacturing practices.

Ability to work in rotational shifts if required.
