Senior Civil Engineer – Job Profile

A Senior Civil Engineer at A P Associates will be responsible for overseeing all technical aspects of construction projects, ensuring timely execution, quality control, resource planning, and coordination with clients, consultants, and internal teams. This role demands leadership, planning, and hands-on supervision to drive site progress and meet project objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Project Planning & Execution

• Prepare and review daily/weekly/monthly project schedules in coordination with Project Manager.

• Ensure execution of civil works as per drawings, design, specifications, and safety standards.

• Allocate daily tasks to junior engineers, supervisors, and site workers.

2. Site Supervision

• Supervise all on-site activities including RCC, brickwork, plastering, finishing, waterproofing, and earthwork.

• Monitor subcontractor work and ensure quality and productivity benchmarks are met.

3. Quality Control & Compliance

• Implement and enforce quality control procedures.

• Ensure work is done as per IS codes, company specifications, and client requirements.

• Conduct inspections and testing of materials and workmanship.

4. Material Management

• Prepare material requirement plans and ensure timely procurement of construction materials.

• Monitor and control wastage of materials and ensure proper storage on site.

5. Coordination & Reporting

• Liaise with architects, structural consultants, clients, and other stakeholders.

• Maintain daily progress reports (DPR), labor deployment sheets, and MIS updates.

• Conduct progress meetings and site review sessions with management and consultants.

6. Team Leadership

• Guide and mentor junior engineers, supervisors, and foremen.

• Ensure proper documentation, safety measures, and resource utilization.

7. Billing & Measurements

• Take site measurements and coordinate with billing engineers for RA bills and contractor payments.

• Verify subcontractor work and approve bills with supporting documents.

Required Skills & Experience:

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering (Diploma holders with strong experience may also be considered).

• 3+ years of site experience in building, infrastructure, or government civil projects.

• Strong knowledge of construction drawings, project management, and safety norms.

• Proficient in MS Project, AutoCAD, and ERP software (if used).
