Ensure compliance with safety, health, and environmental regulations
Conduct hazard analysis (HAZOP, HAZID, risk assessments)
Develop and implement safety procedures and emergency response plans
Minimize waste and emissions through sustainable practices
Quality Control & Assurance
Develop quality control standards and testing procedures
Analyze product quality issues and recommend improvements
Ensure products meet industry and customer specifications
Research & Development (R&D)
Conduct experiments to develop new products, materials, or processes
Evaluate raw materials, catalysts, and alternative technologies
Collaborate with R&D teams to innovate and improve performance
Equipment Design & Selection
Specify, select, and evaluate equipment such as reactors, distillation columns, heat exchangers, and pumps
Coordinate with mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation teams
Review vendor proposals and technical documents
Project Management
Participate in engineering projects from concept to commissioning
Prepare technical reports, cost estimates, and project schedules
Coordinate with contractors and cross-functional teams
Data Analysis & Process Optimization
Use process simulation and modeling tools (., Aspen, HYSYS)
Analyze production data to improve yield, energy efficiency, and throughput
Implement continuous improvement initiatives (Lean, Six Sigma)
Regulatory & Compliance
Ensure adherence to local, national, and international regulations
Prepare documentation for audits, permits, and inspections
Support environmental impact assessments
Technical Documentation & Communication
Prepare SOPs, operating manuals, and technical reports
Present findings and recommendations to management and stakeholders
