• Manage and organise the assigned kitchen section.
• Prepare, cook and present dishes according to approved recipes.
• Maintain consistent taste, quality, portion size and presentation.
• Complete food preparation before each service period.
• Supervise and guide Commis Chefs and kitchen assistants.
• Coordinate with the Sous Chef, Head Chef and other kitchen sections.
• Check the freshness and quality of ingredients.
• Maintain correct storage, labelling and stock rotation using FIFO procedures.
• Monitor section inventory and report supply requirements.
• Reduce food waste and support food-cost control.
• Ensure orders are prepared accurately and served on time.
• Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the workstation.
• Follow HACCP, food-safety and personal-hygiene standards.
• Monitor cooking temperatures and maintain required records.
• Report faulty equipment and maintenance requirements.
• Assist with menu development, daily specials and food presentation.
• Support other kitchen sections during busy service periods.
• Follow workplace safety and fire-prevention procedures.
