CCTV Technician

A CCTV technician installs, maintains, and repairs closed-circuit television systems, ensuring all security equipment is functioning correctly. Key duties include site surveys, running cables, configuring cameras and DVRs/NVRs, troubleshooting system issues, performing regular maintenance checks, and training clients on system usage

Key responsibilities

€¢ Installation and setup:

Mount and position cameras, run and terminate cables, and set up recording devices like DVRs and NVRs.

€¢ Maintenance and repair:

Conduct regular inspections, troubleshoot and repair technical issues, and perform upgrades or replacements of faulty equipment.

€¢ System configuration:

Configure network settings, program systems to meet client requirements, and ensure all installations comply with safety standards and laws.

€¢ Client and technical support:

Provide technical assistance to clients, train them on system operation, and ensure effective communication with supervisors about project progress and problems.

€¢ Site assessment:

Conduct site surveys to assess security needs and determine the optimal placement of equipment.

€¢ Documentation:

Keep detailed records of installation processes, system configurations, and maintenance activities.

Required skills and qualifications

€¢ Strong technical skills with a good understanding of electronics and electrical systems.

€¢ Proficiency with various tools, including hand tools and power tools.

€¢ Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.

€¢ Basic computer and networking skills are often required.

€¢ Good communication skills to interact with clients and team members.

€¢ Attention to detail to ensure accurate and effective installations.
