the cargo officer ensures that cargo shipments are handled and stored according to standard operating procedures (sops) and handling requirements. he/she prepares all cargo documentations and performs stock control and housekeeping operations. he/she ensures shipments are arranged according to cargo plans. he/she follows and implements safety and security measures, and reports any safety and security breaches. he/she is skilled in operating different equipment and vehicles related to cargo operations. he/she works under all weather conditions, including shifts to accommodate round-the-clock flight arrivals and departures. he/she is familiar with all safety standards and regulations set by the organisation and other authorities. he/she is detailed-oriented and works well with others.
