job descriptions:

safe driving: ensure the safety of passengers and other road users by following traffic laws and regulations. maintain a clean driving record and prioritize safe driving practices.

vehicle maintenance: regularly inspect and maintain the taxi cab to ensure it is in good working condition. this includes checking the engine, brakes, tires, lights, and other essential components.

navigation: have a strong knowledge of the local area, including streets, neighborhoods, and landmarks. utilize gps systems or navigation apps to efficiently navigate to the destination.

customer service: provide a high level of customer service by being polite, courteous, and professional. assist passengers with their luggage and help them enter and exit the vehicle safely.

fare collection: collect fares from passengers based on the meter or a predetermined rate. ensure that the fare calculation is accurate and provide receipts if requested.

communication: maintain clear and effective communication with passengers. listen to their requests, answer questions, and address concerns or complaints in a polite and professional manner.

availability: be available for work during scheduled shifts and be responsive to calls or dispatch requests. maintain a clean and well-groomed appearance while on duty.

record keeping: keep accurate records of daily trips, including the starting and ending odometer readings, the total fare collected, and any additional charges. some cab drivers may be self-employed and responsible for managing their own finances and taxes.

vehicle cleanliness: keep the taxi cab clean and well-maintained, both inside and outside. this includes regular cleaning of the interior, such as the seats and windows, to provide a comfortable and pleasant experience for passengers.
