an air hostess (also known as cabin crew or flight attendant) is responsible for ensuring the safety, comfort, and satisfaction of passengers during flights. the role includes providing excellent customer service, handling in-flight emergencies, and representing the airline professionally.
key responsibilities
welcome passengers on board and assist with seating arrangements
conduct pre-flight safety checks and demonstrate safety procedures
ensure compliance with aviation safety rules and regulations
serve food, beverages, and in-flight services to passengers
assist passengers with special needs (children, elderly, disabled)
handle passenger queries, complaints, and emergencies calmly
provide first aid and emergency assistance when required
maintain cleanliness and order in the aircraft cabin
coordinate with pilots and fellow cabin crew members
ensure proper landing procedures and passenger disembarkation
eligibility criteria (typical)
minimum qualification: 10+2 (any stream)
age: usually 18–27 years (varies by airline)
height & arm reach: as per airline standards
good eyesight (correctable vision accepted by most airlines)
excellent communication skills in english & hindi (additional languages are a plus)
