job summary:
the aerospace engineer is responsible for the design, development, testing, and maintenance of aircraft, spacecraft, missiles, and related systems and components. the role involves applying advanced engineering principles to improve performance, safety, and efficiency, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
key responsibilities:
🛠️ design & development
design and develop aerospace systems, components, and structures (aircraft, satellites, propulsion systems, etc.).
use cad and simulation tools (catia, solidworks, ansys, matlab, simulink) to create and test design prototypes.
develop new materials, manufacturing methods, or structural designs to enhance performance.
optimize aerodynamic, thermal, and propulsion system performance.

conduct aerodynamic and structural analyses using cfd and fea software.
test prototypes for functionality, safety, reliability, and performance under various conditions.
evaluate data from wind tunnel tests, flight tests, and simulations.
troubleshoot and resolve design or performance issues.

plan, manage, and oversee aerospace design or research projects from concept to completion.
integrate subsystems (avionics, propulsion, structures, controls) into a complete vehicle.
coordinate with multidisciplinary teams including electrical, mechanical, and software engineers.
prepare technical documentation, project plans, and progress reports.

conduct r&d for new aerospace technologies, materials, or propulsion systems.
stay updated on emerging trends such as unmanned aerial systems (uavs), sustainable fuels, and space technologies.
develop innovative solutions to improve flight safety, fuel efficiency, and environmental performance.

ensure all designs and products comply with aviation regulations and safety standards (faa, easa, dgca, iso, as9100).
participate in audits, inspections, and certification processes.
implement quality assurance procedures to ensure reliability and durability of products.
required skills & competencies:
strong foundation in aerodynamics, propulsion, thermodynamics, and fluid mechanics.
proficiency in engineering software: catia, autocad, matlab, simulink, ansys, solidworks, or nastran.
analytical and problem-solving abilities for complex engineering challenges.
excellent written and verbal communication skills for technical reporting.
attention to detail and adherence to precision engineering standards.
ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team.
strong time management and project coordination skills.
qualifications:
education: bachelor’s degree in aerospace engineering, aeronautical engineering, mechanical engineering, or related field.
preferred: master’s degree or specialization in aerodynamics, propulsion, or avionics.
experience: 0–5 years for entry-level roles; 5+ years for senior positions.
certifications (optional): professional engineer (pe), six sigma, or project management certification.
work environment:
typically office or laboratory-based, with occasional field or test-site work.
