Key Responsibilities1. Structural Design & AnalysisModeling & Simulations: Create comprehensive 3D structural models and execute structural analysis for industrial buildings, equipment foundations, pipe racks, and heavy steel fabrications using specialized engineering software.Load Calculations: Calculate complex dead, live, wind, seismic (earthquake), and dynamic machinery loads to determine structural stability and material requirements.Optimization: Optimize structural designs to reduce material costs (steel and concrete tonnage) while maintaining absolute safety and compliance with building codes.2. Drawing Validation & Technical DocumentationBlueprint Review: Review and approve structural blueprints, General Arrangement (GA) drawings, and structural fabrication details before they are released to the shop floor or construction site.Bar Bending Schedules (BBS): Verify detailing works, including Bar Bending Schedules for reinforced concrete structures and connection detailing for steel structures.Technical Reporting: Prepare detail-oriented structural design calculation reports, technical notes, and specification sheets for client submission and regulatory approvals.3. Cross-Functional Coordination & Site SupportShop Floor & Site Liaison: Coordinate closely with Project Managers, Fabrication Supervisors, and site construction teams to clarify technical design intents and resolve on-site engineering challenges or structural misalignments.Material Quantities (BOQ): Generate precise Bills of Quantities (BOQ) and material estimation sheets to assist the procurement team in ordering correct raw material grades (e.g., specific steel sections or concrete mixes).ECN Management: Evaluate and process Engineering Change Notes (ECNs) when on-site modifications or material unavailability force changes to the original structural design.
