Job Purpose:Provide leadership for the Hot End shift team and execution of scheduled production plans.Maintain Safety, Quality, and Productivity of the shift and pass down all important communication to incoming shift.Building up a strong competent Hot end team and living with the expectations of Shift and Functional Managers.Responsibilities:- Plan and execute changes at Raw material store, Batch Plant, Furnace, Float Bath, Coating and Lehr process setups on glass pull adjustments.- Inspect, control, and maintain process parameters according to standards set by Functional Managers as well as Shift Managers to get optimum efficiencies.- Ensure timely unloading of Raw Materials as well as finished products to Cold End, and make sure they meet set specifications.- Conduct physical inspection of area of responsibility to check condition of equipment, operation, and processes. He corrects them whenever necessary.- Implement established operating procedures for specific activities including emergencies and abnormalities. He attends to all equipment malfunctions at Hot End, and ensures minimal downtime and losses.- Prepare and submit regular reports related to operation including shift reports, CAPA, Accident & Summary reports at periodic intervals, and cost-related materials.- Conduct regular training of crew to improve skills and emergency readiness as per overall float line plan,and strictly implement safety guidelines at area of responsibility.- Provide directions to Hot End shift team as to manpower assignments to carry out shift operational activities from receiving of raw materials till glass annealing.- Coordinate with Cold End Shift Engineer and QC Technician regarding changeover time, production schedules / cut sequence, etc., and monitor actual production quality, yield-KNOWLEDGE, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED FOR JOBEducationGraduate Engineer/ Science from recognised University.Experience8 Yrs related shop floor supervisory experience
