# JOB DESCRIPTION - SWEET MAKER / HALWAI### Position**Sweet Maker / Halwai**### DepartmentKitchen / Food Production### Job TypeFull-Time### Job SummaryWe are looking for an experienced and skilled **Sweet Maker / Halwai** to prepare a wide variety of traditional Indian sweets and desserts. The candidate should have strong knowledge of ingredients, traditional sweet-making techniques, cooking temperatures, hygiene, quality control, and presentation.### Key Responsibilities* Prepare a variety of Indian sweets such as **Gulab Jamun, Rasgulla, Rasmalai, Jalebi, Ladoo, Barfi, Peda, Kaju Katli, Kalakand, Halwa** and other traditional sweets.* Prepare and handle ingredients including **milk, khoya, sugar, ghee, flour, dry fruits, nuts, cream and other ingredients**.* Follow recipes and maintain accurate ingredient proportions.* Prepare sugar syrup and maintain the required consistency.* Monitor cooking/frying temperature and cooking time.* Ensure consistent **taste, texture, colour, quality and presentation**.* Check the freshness and quality of raw materials before production.* Maintain proper hygiene and cleanliness of the kitchen and equipment.* Follow food safety and workplace safety standards.* Minimize food wastage and maintain proper storage of ingredients and finished products.* Complete daily production requirements within the required time.* Assist in developing new sweets and improving existing recipes.* Handle sweet-making equipment, utensils, moulds and cooking machinery safely.* Coordinate with other kitchen staff during high-volume production and festivals.* Maintain cleanliness and organization of the production area.### Requirements* Previous experience as a **Sweet Maker / Halwai / Mithai Karigar** preferred.* Strong knowledge of Indian sweets and traditional preparation methods.* Ability to prepare sweets in **bulk quantities**.* Good understanding of cooking temperatures, consistency and ingredient proportions.* Knowledge of food hygiene and kitchen safety.* Good hand skills and attention to detail.* Physically fit and comfortable working for extended periods in a kitchen.* Ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet production deadlines.### Preferred Experience**2-5 years** of relevant experience in a sweet shop, hotel, restaurant, catering company or food production unit.### Working Conditions* Full-time kitchen-based role.* May require **early morning starts, weekends, holidays and extended hours during festivals or high-demand periods**.* Food and accommodation can be provided depending on employer requirements.
