About Ummeed:5-year-old Dhanashree had challenges in learning as per her family. With the help of her Occupational Therapy sessions, her attention skills were built using sensory integration frame of reference. 3-year-old Arjun learnt to initiate and reciprocate conversations through play and sensory based strategies in Occupational Therapy sessions.Dhanashree and Arjuns stories are not unique. India has over 50 million children with disabilities under the age of 15. With access to appropriate health, intervention, education, recreation, and livelihood services they can be supported to become participative members of society. Today most of them have limited or no access to relevant knowledge and services as the number of organizations and professionals in the space are inadequate to meet the need. The team also conducts various group-based interventions for children with developmental disabilities. Additionally, the OTPT team conducts training programs for caregivers of children, teachers and professionals too.A Junior Occupational Therapists job profile enables you to become a complete clinician by putting into action all the important concepts you have learnt in your training.
