A Fiber Optics technician is responsible for installing, preparing, splicing and troubleshooting fiber optic cables. The Fiber Technicians job involves fiber termination work in large to multi-story office buildings to small housing buildings. The primary functions of the Fiber Technician include: Resolve, repair and install fiber optics systems and ensure that they work properly Fiber cabling routing and replace faulty with new cable Splicing, testing, and troubleshooting of fiber sites and links Documenting and reporting on work completed Take care of fiber splicing and rectify fiber optic problems Ensure that fiber optic system does not destabilize its performance Execute premises cabling and connect to end customer
