We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Product Sourcing Engineer to lead and support sourcing activities for engineered products and components. The ideal candidate will combine technical knowledge with sourcing expertise to identify, evaluate, and manage global suppliers, ensuring cost-effective, timely, and quality delivery of materials and products.Key Responsibilities:Identify, qualify, and develop suppliers for mechanical, electrical, and electro-mechanical components.Interpret engineering drawings and specifications to ensure supplier capability and product feasibility.Conduct cost analysis, benchmarking, and value engineering to optimize product sourcing.Lead RFQ/RFP processes, cost negotiations, and contract discussions with suppliers.Collaborate with R&D, product development, and manufacturing teams during new product introductions (NPI).Evaluate supplier capabilities, conduct audits, and ensure compliance with quality standards.Support cost reduction initiatives and supply chain optimization projects.Maintain detailed records of supplier interactions, quotes, and sourcing decisions.Monitor and manage supplier performance metrics (quality, cost, delivery).Ensure compliance with applicable regulations (RoHS, REACH, trade compliance, etc.).Required Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering, or related field.35 years of experience in sourcing or procurement in an engineering-driven environment.Strong technical understanding of manufacturing processes and material requirements.Proficient in CAD interpretation, ERP systems, and Excel-based cost models.Experience with global sourcing, especially in Asia (China, India, Southeast Asia).Strong negotiation, communication, and vendor management skills.Preferred Skills:Knowledge of international trade regulations and logistics.Familiarity with quality systems (ISO, Six Sigma, APQP).Experience with PLM tools (e.g., Windchill, Arena, Agile).PMP, Six Sigma, CPSM, or other certifications are a plus.Ability to travel domestically and internationally as required.Soft Skills:Detail-oriented with strong analytical and organizational skills.Proactive problem-solver and effective cross-functional collaborator.Comfortable in a fast-paced, evolving environment.Let me know if you want a version tailored to a specific product type or region (e.g., electronics sourcing in China, automotive parts, etc.)

Selection of suppliers for the projects, develop relationships with current suppliers and onboard newmanufacturing partners as per the business requirements. Optimize the overall BOM cost, interact with manufacturing partners to optimize the design, performa should-cost analysis, cost benchmarking, and suggest alternatives that meet key requirements ofthe client. Conduct vendor audits, release vendor ratings and do timely visits to the facilities of manufacturingpartners across Mumbai.Skill Set Required Industry experience in CNC Machining, in an estimation, costing, proposals or production supervisorrole. Candidates having deep knowledge in CNC components purchase are given preference. Specialist Knowledge: CNC Turning, VMC, Lathe, Wire Cutting, Spark EDM, Tool Manufacturing andMachining, Gear Hobbling and spline cutting, Micro machining, jigs and Fixtures, Post processing(Powder coating, Anodising, Hardening, Media blasting, etc) Technical knowledge of engineering design, experience with CAD software (AutoCAD and Solidworks). Knowledge in other fields such as Iron casting, Forging, Sheet metal Stamping and welding etc. areconsidered as a merit.
