Key Roles and ResponsibilitiesDesign & Development: Create 3D CAD models, assemblies, and detailed engineering drawings (GD&T) for parts and mechanisms.Analysis & Simulation: Perform FEA, CFD, tolerance stack-up, and kinematic studies to validate design performance and safety.Documentation & BOMs: Create, manage, and release Bills of Materials (BOMs), technical specifications, and manufacturing documents (ERPs).DFM/DFA: Apply Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) principles to reduce costs and improve production efficiency.Technical Support: Collaborate with vendors, support prototype builds, and provide technical guidance to production teams during assembly.Project Management: Adhere to project timelines, budgets, and technical specifications, often leading Design Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (DFMEA).
