Job Summary:The Staff Nurse is responsible for delivering high-quality nursing care to patients under the supervision of medical professionals. This role involves assessing patient conditions, administering medications, monitoring progress, maintaining medical records, and ensuring that all nursing activities comply with hospital standards and safety protocols.Key Responsibilities: Patient CareProvide direct patient care, including monitoring vital signs, assisting with mobility, and maintaining personal hygiene.Administer medications and injections as prescribed by the physician.Monitor patient symptoms and reactions to treatments, and report any significant changes to the doctor.Assist in feeding, bathing, dressing, and other daily activities of patients when required.Provide compassionate care and emotional support to patients and their families. Clinical & Technical DutiesPrepare and maintain patient charts, records, and reports accurately.Perform wound dressing, catheterization, and IV insertion.Maintain and operate medical equipment (oxygen cylinders, ECG machines, suction units, etc.).Follow infection control and sterilization protocols strictly.Assist doctors during examinations, minor surgeries, and medical procedures.Ensure proper sample collection, labeling, and dispatch to laboratories. Administrative & DocumentationRecord patient information, medication charts, and nursing notes accurately.Maintain ward stock of medicines, consumables, and medical equipment.Assist in maintaining hospital records, reports, and audit data.Ensure compliance with hospital policies and healthcare regulations. Emergency & Postoperative CareProvide first aid and respond quickly to emergency situations.Assist in pre- and post-operative care for surgical patients.Monitor postoperative recovery and report complications immediately.Be prepared to perform CPR or other life-saving interventions if required. Training & CoordinationCoordinate with doctors, physiotherapists, technicians, and administrative staff.Support training and orientation for junior nurses and nursing assistants.Participate in hospital quality improvement and patient safety initiatives.Required Skills & Competencies:Strong knowledge of nursing principles and clinical procedures.Excellent observation and assessment skills.Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.Empathy, patience, and professionalism.Ability to work under pressure and handle emergency situations.Good record-keeping and organizational skills.Competence in using hospital management systems and medical software.Qualifications:Education: GNM (General Nursing & Midwifery), B.Sc.
