As a Dialysis Technician, you will play a vital role in supporting patients undergoing dialysis treatments. Your primary duties will include:- **Preparing Dialysis Equipment**: Set up and maintain dialysis machines, ensuring they are ready for patient use according to safety standards.- **Monitoring Patients**: Observe patients during dialysis sessions for any signs of discomfort or complications, providing timely assistance as needed.- **Assisting with Treatments**: Help in the connection and disconnection of patients to the dialysis machines under the supervision of a registered nurse or physician.- **Maintaining Records**: Document patient information and treatment details accurately, ensuring that all records are kept up-to-date for effective patient care.- **Sterilizing Equipment**: Ensure all equipment and surfaces are cleaned and sterilized according to protocols to maintain a safe clinical environment.- **Providing Support**: Offer emotional support and education to patients and their families about the dialysis process and self-care post-treatment.Candidates should possess a B.Sc degree preferably in a health-related field. Strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work under pressure are essential. You should be a team player with good problem-solving skills and a willingness to learn. Basic knowledge of medical terminology and prior experience in a healthcare setting, while not mandatory, will be an advantage.
