The Electrical Engineer is responsible for the operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and improvement of electrical systems in the paper mill to ensure safe, continuous, and efficient production.Key ResponsibilitiesElectrical Maintenance & OperationsOperation and maintenance of HT/LT panels, MCCs, PCCs, transformers, and switchgearPreventive, breakdown, and predictive maintenance of motors, drives, and electrical equipmentHandling power distribution systems and load managementAttending emergency breakdowns to minimize production downtimeDrives & AutomationInstallation, operation, and troubleshooting of VFDs/AC drives, soft startersCoordination with instrumentation and automation teams for process control systemsBasic understanding of PLC/DCS systems (interlocks, signals, field wiring)Safety & ComplianceEnsure compliance with electrical safety standards, LOTO, and statutory normsConduct safety inspections and toolbox talksMaintain electrical drawings, SOPs, and safety recordsEnergy & UtilitiesMonitor power consumption and support energy-saving initiativesCoordination with utility departments (boilers, turbines, compressors)Support during shutdowns, startups, and annual maintenance activitiesDocumentation & ReportingMaintain maintenance logs, breakdown reports, and daily shift recordsSpare parts planning and inventory coordinationSupport audits and inspectionsRequired SkillsStrong knowledge of industrial electrical systemsHands-on experience with paper mill machinery (pulping, paper machine, rewinder, utilities preferred)Knowledge of HT/LT safety practicesAbility to read and interpret electrical drawingsGood troubleshooting and teamwork skillsQualificationsB.Tech / Diploma in Electrical Engineering15 years experience in a paper mill or continuous process industryFreshers with strong fundamentals may be considered (as per requirement)Work EnvironmentContinuous process plant (247 shifts)Exposure to high-voltage equipment and rotating machineryStrict adherence to safety protocols
