Complete preoperative examinations of patients, including their height, weight, and other medical conditions or diseases they may have.Make an assessment of the patients overall health for the procedure.Discuss risks and benefits of anesthesia with the patient and their families.Consult with surgeons and doctors to ascertain the length of surgery and how long a patient needs to be under anesthesia.Consult with patients pre- and post-anesthesia.Be on hand and alert to assist with any emergencies or problems during anesthesia.Put patients under anesthesia and monitor their vital signs during and after anesthesia.Work in line with patient confidentiality and safeguarding guidelines.
