The intensivist should develop and maintain excellent rapport, co-ordination and communication with various colleagues, administrators and other hospital personnel to facilitate high quality patient care. The intensivist should work towards creating awareness of the specialty of intensive care medicine amongst the medical profession as well as the general public.
