responsibilities:

- develop, maintain, and optimise wordpress websites and applications

- customise wordpress themes and create custom themes from scratch

- extend and customise woocommerce for custom e-commerce functionalities

- create and modify custom post types and taxonomies

- build reusable blocks and components using gutenberg

- collaborate with design and content teams to create high-quality user experiences

- implement responsible web design principles to ensure websites are optimised across various devices

- optimise websites for speed, seo, and performance

- manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced, collaborative environment

- write clean, readable, and well-documented code, following best practices

qualifications:

- bachelors degree in computer science, web development, or a related field is preferred

- 5-8 years of hands-on experience in wordpress development

- strong skills in html, css, javascript, and php

- experience with popular page builders like elementor, wpbakery, or others

- proficient understanding of restful apis, caching mechanisms, and json

- in-depth understanding of woocommerce, including custom theme development, creating custom plugins, and api integrations

- knowledge of seo best practices

- strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and organisational skills

desired skills:

- familiarity with version control systems like git
