job summary:

we are seeking a compassionate, diligent, and physically capable ward boy / ward attendant to provide essential support services to patients and nursing staff at our healthcare facility in nashik. the ward boy will be responsible for assisting patients with their daily needs, ensuring ward cleanliness, transporting patients and materials, and generally supporting the smooth functioning of the patient care unit. this role is crucial for maintaining a comfortable and hygienic environment for patients and aiding nurses in their duties.

key responsibilities:

patient assistance:

assist patients with daily personal care activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and oral hygiene, ensuring their comfort and dignity.

help patients with mobility, including turning them in bed, assisting with walking, transferring to and from wheelchairs/stretchers, and helping them get in and out of bed.

assist patients with feeding, especially those who require help, and ensuring they receive appropriate meals as per diet charts.

respond promptly to patient call bells and attend to their immediate non-medical needs.

ward maintenance & hygiene:

ensure the cleanliness and tidiness of the ward, patient rooms, and common areas by regularly cleaning beds, bedside tables, and other furniture.

change bed linens and patient clothing as required, maintaining proper hygiene standards.

collect and dispose of waste (general and biomedical waste) according to established hospital protocols.

ensure the availability of clean drinking water for patients.

transportation & logistics:

transport patients safely within the hospital premises for tests (., x-ray, mri), procedures (., ot), or transfers between wards/departments using wheelchairs or stretchers.

transport patient samples (., blood, urine) to the laboratory, medical records, files, and medications between departments as instructed by nursing staff.

assist in moving and setting up medical equipment as required.

support to nursing staff:

assist nurses in basic patient care procedures (., preparing for procedures, assisting with vital sign checks) under direct supervision.

help in preparing patient beds for new admissions and cleaning after discharges.

report any changes in patient condition, discomfort, or concerns observed to the nursing staff immediately.

follow all instructions given by nurses and doctors regarding patient care and ward management.

safety & compliance:

adhere to all hospital policies, procedures, and safety guidelines, including infection control and patient handling protocols.

ensure patient privacy and confidentiality at all times.
