key responsibilities:
create original fabric designs, patterns, prints, and textures suitable for garment production.
conduct market research to identify current trends, color palettes, and customer preferences.
prepare technical specifications, artwork, and design samples for production.
collaborate with the production, merchandising, and buying teams to ensure timely execution of designs.
develop seasonal collections based on market demand and export requirements.
work closely with fabric suppliers and printing units to ensure design feasibility and quality control.
create tech packs with detailed information for fabric production and garment construction.
maintain and update design archives, mood boards, and trend libraries.
monitor fabric development and production stages to ensure designs are accurately translated into final products.
communicate effectively with international clients regarding design approvals and modifications.
🔧 required skills & qualifications:
diploma or degree in textile design, fashion design, or a related field.
minimum 3–7 years of relevant experience in textile designing, preferably in garment export houses.
proficient in design software tools: adobe illustrator, photoshop, coreldraw, or similar.
strong knowledge of fabric types, yarn structures, printing techniques (screen printing, digital printing, etc.).
good eye for color, patterns, and garment aesthetics.
understanding of export garment production and technical specifications.
excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
ability to work under deadlines and manage multiple design projects.
